TYPORGRAPHY - FINAL PROJECT 29/5/2018  week 10 Ng Shu Zhi (0327158) Typography - Final Project - Event Design LECTURES Week 10: (No lecture) Week 11: We were given a lecture about screen and print fonts, the theories and practical parts to using certain fonts and their sizing which changes how we read a text. Week 12: (Holiday) Week 13: We did the exercises for the day INSTRUCTIONS WORK fig 1.1 A pdf file of my love and hate essay. fig 1.2 second attempt at the love and hate essay after formatting the text fig 1.3 The 3 different designs to the titles for the essays I've written with some extra tester fonts for Ashley by the side. In the end I liked the slashing effect for Ashley in the tester so I chose to use it in the final title. TYPORGRAPHY - PROJECT 2 22/5/2018 - 29/5/2018 week 9 - week 10 Ng Shu Zhi (0327158) Typography - Project 2 - Font Design LECTURES Week 9: We had a talk in the morning with Mr Vinod about his ideals and reasons behind his teaching style and told us to become picky and make sure our strokes in our fonts were to be same width. week 10: [Wesak holiday] INSTRUCTIONS We were told to make our own fonts which could compliment the Taylor's mark. We were to study the design of the mark with its minimalistic design and design a font which would suit an education institution. WORK fig 1.1 My studies on the Taylor's mark and I tested a few of the fonts which were given by Mr. Vinod to compare and see which fonts seemed the best with it. TYPOGRAPHY - PROJECT 1 1/5/2018 - 15/5/2018 week 6 - week 8 Ng Shu Zhi (0327158) Typography - Project 1 - The Babadook Book LECTURES Lecture 7: We were taught about Kerning and Letter spacing. Letter spacing is the counter-form space of each letter. Kerning is when we adjust the space of the letter spacing. Spacing is to increase the spacing between each word. I also learned the space between each sentence is called legging space and, space between each paragraph is paragraph space. Lecture 8: We ventured more into Kerning and Letter spacing, this time learning how to organise and give hierarchy to Titles, sub titles  INSTRUCTIONS We were to design a children's horror story book called the Babadook using InDesign. We are to express 4 sentences in the whole book in 14 pt with 18 pt legging. The book is to be 200mm x 200mm in size.
