INSTRUCTIONS

WORK
For this project we were to make a 3 minute animated infographic where we comparea dn contrast 2 items of the same topic. For my group we picked red and white wine.

We began with listing out our content using the 5W 1H method and that was also how we separated our acts as well. For our group we separated ourselves into 2 teams, the graphics team who handle the colours and graphics of the video and the animation team who handled the animation. Each team consisted of 3 people, the graphic team with Jessica, Thooba and JQ and the animation team consisting of Suzy, Jasmine and Velia.

Here is the animatic which was made by 2 people from the animation team, Suzy and Jasmine so there are 2 different art styles for the animatic. Then through the animatic, we were able to see what assets we would need for our animations.

These were the assets made for the animation, it took quite sometime because it was hard to pair colours for infographics. The graphics team consisted of 3 people: Thooba, JQ and Jessica

This was our final outcome for the animation portion of the project. The animation team consisted of 3 people Shu Zhi, Jasmine and Velia.

REFLECTION
Experience
The experience, I'd say I've enjoyed it very much. I love watching infographic videos and animations and when we were briefed for this project, I was very excited to do it. Yes it was stressful but the results were worth the stress. It was a bit harder to pick what kind of subject to focus on because of the endless possibilities; we went through many topics like Apple vs Samsung and Flat Earthers vs Round Earthers( Which I objected with all my might) but in the end after getting some advice from our tutor we went with Red vs White wine. After getting our topic, we started making our topics and it made research more smooth then we separated into our teams. I was part of the animation team so we made the storyboard and animatic, then sent it to the graphics team to make the drawings and colour pairing which proved to be very hard as colours would clash with each other. The coming to the animation part, we recorded the voice for it, discussed our transitions then began with animating. Even though we had 3 people working on the animation, one of our group mates wasn't pulling her weight which made the whole process longer and stressful because of her mistakes.

Observations
Picking colours for a website is very hard and takes a very long time as colours can clash against each other and in videos, if the colours are too similar, they may bleed into each other making different things harder to see in a video.

Findings
Through this project I had my doubts for some of my group mates, some who I was pleasantly surprised with and some who just brought the team down with their lack of work and many mistakes which other group mates had to fix. There was no choice though, we had to take them in because other groups were filled already. This project has taught me though that it is better to separate into teams for a project, even something that seems as simple as this took quite some time and without the proper help can become very taxing on one person.
