Week 1 [16 Dec 2019 - 20 Dec 2019] My first week and I'm given prop design for a children nursery rhyme animation. So I have to make everything look like toy versions of the actual item Challenges: Making industrial item look like kid friendly toys is hard because of how dangerous the item is. Learning: Look at other toy designs with almost the same type of anatomy to make it look a little more kiddish and playful. When putting in the colours choose colours that are very different from the character and background, a way to do this is by putting the character next to the prop colour combination and seeing if it's too similar. With this it's better to pick harmonious colours that compliments the character instead of fight for attention with the character. Be your own critique on your work to see if the design can work with the rest of the environment. Learned the pipeline of how things work from getting the treatment-> script->breakdown of items needed per

Minor Project reflection blog

week 1 First week, we didn't have much of an idea of what was going on other than searching up what were earthships. We formed our groups and talked about who would be a good target audience for marketing to. We learned how to figure out who to target from this. week 2 For this week we chose to target the millennial age range as we thought they would have the biggest income and have the buying power for our campaign towards them. We were missing an entire theme and direction to go for this project and I think we didn't really understand what Mr Mike meant by direction, theme and message. week 3 We didn't figure out what was the anchor for our project yet and it was a bit frustrating because I didn't understand what was an anchor at this point, Then we started coming up with the idea to target kids because they were our future and we thought teaching them to see earthship functions as natural would be a good message to do by making it more child friendly. week 4

DISSERTATION

Google drive to all works: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lZ3zn5ewdBMEqoOtqXwcgneYmD8qAu5u Project 1 - Dissertation draft Week 2 Ms Hayati told us to review our old literature and reflect on it to think of a prototype for our final year project. Feedback: Ms Hayati gave me a thorough explanation about writing the dissertation Week 3 I made my dissertation skeleton and started on the introduction to my dissertation. Feedback: For my literature review, I needed to compare and contrast all of the literature I had read instead of only comparing 2 literatures. I’ll also have to go through some notes to ensure my content has substantial meaning. Week 4 I started on my methodology because I didn't have the mood to write a literature review yet so I gathered my old data and looked at it again to write the methodology part of the dissertation. Feedback: I needed a title Correlate every sub-topic with each other in the literature review Add pictures to the metho

VEHICLE AND PROPS DESIGN

EXERCISES WORK Today we had an exercise to practice our basic blocking and perspective. We had to block the basic shapes from 2 ground, air and water vehicles which we found from the internet. REFLECTION My first attempt at this was bad as I'm not good at perspective or thinking in the most basic form. I wanted to finish the sketch quick to the end product and that was bad as it was rushing through the basics of perspective. First attempt Through a lot of focus and patience I was able to try and fix my perspective to be at least a little bit more accurate but there's still a long way to go. I added some perspective guidelines for this and really focused on getting just the basic forms of the car right first. second attempt

INTERCULTURAL DESIGN

7/1/2019 - 22/2/2019 (Week 1 - Week 7) Ng Shu Zhi 0327158 Intercultural Design PROJECT 1 : PROPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS WORK When we were first introduced to this project and the location for our data collection, we chose to do some research about the places we were going to go to to get an idea of what we could focus on while we were in Korea and where we may find some of the items. Then we researched on some things in Korea which we could focus on while we were at Korea. Then after some consultation we realised that collecting data isn't just collecting physical data like objects in Korea so we changed our idea and thought about focusing on environmental data based on the hypothesis we had made. Here is our proposal slides. REFLECTION Doing the proposal about a place which I'm not familiar with is quite difficult. I'm not very familiar with the culture like their mannerism but I was familiar with their modern culture as I liked watching Korean vlog

7/1/2019 - 22/2/2019 (Week 1 - Week 7) Ng Shu Zhi 0327158 Information Design - Final Project  INSTRUCTIONS WORK For this project we were to make a 3 minute animated infographic where we comparea dn contrast 2 items of the same topic. For my group we picked red and white wine. We began with listing out our content using the 5W 1H method and that was also how we separated our acts as well. For our group we separated ourselves into 2 teams, the graphics team who handle the colours and graphics of the video and the animation team who handled the animation. Each team consisted of 3 people, the graphic team with Jessica, Thooba and JQ and the animation team consisting of Suzy, Jasmine and Velia. Here is the animatic which was made by 2 people from the animation team, Suzy and Jasmine so there are 2 different art styles for the animatic. Then through the animatic, we were able to see what assets we would need for our animations. These were the assets made for the anim

21/1/2019 - 28/2019 (Week 3 - Week 4) Ng Shu Zhi 0327158 Information Design - Project 1 INSTRUCTIONS WORK POSTER For this project, I chose to use a recipe from an ASMR youtube channel I'm a fan of. The recipe I chose was their Strawberry choco cake which I thought the preparation process included many different steps for the project. For this project I had to pick a colour palette for a more aesthetic colour scheme as I am terrible at colour combinations. I felt that this colour palette also reflected the colours of the end product of the strawberry choco cake. The 2 infographics I was inspired by to making my poster, one for the flow of information and another for the details for the steps. my final work for the poster. The feedback I got from Ms Anis was good as my infographic showed good display on instructions but there were just a few tweaks here and there like the flow line being too thin and some instructions like the baine marie weren
